New Year, new schedule.

My schedule: an ever-evolving, meandering pathway to the future, includes copious lists penned by myself, ignored by my hubby, endured by my children? The framework that guides our days and leaves a path of scattered papers and half completed tasks.

But the completing of our schedule is my weekly tradition- and although I know that much of what I imagine and aspire to accomplish this week will live out only on the pages of my calendar, it is nice to have guidelines, reminders and options of what our journey will be like this week.

I started off this morning with a little music for myself from Blip while I read my Monday blogger choice, then we all danced to some music from WeeSing, and now we are off to focus on gratitude and complete the Thank You notes G is going to send after a wonderful Hannah Montana Skating Birthday party yesterday. Then to Target for her shopping spree with gift cards! We are like a that commercial with the little boy who gets a Target gift card for Christmas...

HAPPY new year!

27 Skills & Quick Update on Us

27-skills-your-child-needs-to-know-that-shes-not-getting-in-school

As I nurse the baby, I am trying to catch up with my online groups and blog buddies - here's something I got today, I just skimmed it for now, but it looks good to me!

We are all doing well, not sleeping much- and busy packing to move in a week. Yes, move with a newborn. Yes, I am crazy. Well actually I just don't have a choice...

Back to the OC for us! We'll be in Costa Mesa with Shawn's uncle for a few months then... who knows?

What helps you?

I've started a list of things that "help"- whatever the need may be, taking a few minutes to do one of these activities helps me.

1. Washing my face

2. Pulling weeds

3. Laying in the grass

4. Walking my dog

5. An extra long hug

6. Smelling a kitten

7. Drinking a big glass of water

8. Prepping fresh produce so it's handy for myself and my family

9. Smelling one of the herbs growing in the garden- (basil & cilantro are current faves)

10. Completing a job worth doing- especially if it's challenging!

I plan on adding to this list- that is unless I forget or can't find it...

Puzzles!

Shawn last finished Da Vinci's Last Supper in Nov! No time for puzzles this fall- can't wait until we are in our own place again!!
