Desperately Seeking a Fairy Godmother
Always breathe. Well duh, without breath we would die- hence the secret to life. But while I am sitting here, breathing in and out- focusing on my breath as it fills me with life, I can't help but wonder- now what?
The Barefoot Bellahs are at a crossroads- we have been road weary travellers for so long, I have forgotten the destination. I have been intent on experiencing "the journey" and I fear I have lost my way- if I ever even knew the way, that is!
My horoscope today says not to lose sight of the distant horizon, stay focused on the long term goal and I realized that I didn't really have one. When I am at work I get caught up in the desire to "move up" in the infrastructure, climb the ladder of success- but I am compelled to raise and educate my children at home. Can I do both well?
G is 7 (going on 17) and I need to start paying attention to her need for independence, her desire to be more of her own person. While J, at just barely 1 year old, is going through a very clingy phase and wants her mama all the time. I feel overwhelmed when I am with them- trying to balance their needs with my own desire to feel successful and accomplished.
Having an entrepreneurial spirit I am constantly devising plans to start some venture or another and I 100% believe in each grand idea- until it shows itself to be seriously flawed or impractical.
Needed: 1 fairy godmother to help me figure out not what to wear to the ball, but where the ball is and whose court I should put it in, to mix metaphors... and since fairy godmothers are quite talented in time management, setting deadlines and creating an illusion to support the picture of a complete princess, maybe I would finally get moving in a direction that feels right.

Reminds me of Baz Luhrman
My thoughts- although it's far past afternoon...
Whatever happened to UB40?
A baby's laughter is more contagious than a common cold.
Home is where the heart is. The heart is where family is. Family is where you need to be.
Sickness really is a sign you need to slow down and if you don't listen more will come in different forms!
I'm particular to fruit. I would choose it more often than most of the other food groups.
A baby's cry is more attention getting than a drill sergeant at roll call.
Everything can change in an instant. Change your perspective, change your world. Save the cheerleader...
ok getting a bit silly... well Random Tuesday was fun, thanks for the idea http://2toomanyhats.blogspot.com/

I'd love to give her prompts, but the social aspect is already providing that - click here. We'll see where it goes from here...

Original Post from MyHomeSchoolPlace
My internet guru, Mel, posted about myhomeschoolplace and so I had to give it a whirl. I have been thinking about trying to consolidate, or at least maybe categorize my interests accordingly so I have set up a few blogs for specific purposes and I really like the idea of my "hub" being centered on homeschooling, since that is the center of our life- everything else is just icing and decorations on that delicious chocolate cake that is our lifelong learning path.
So we'll see how it goes and if I can keep up with it all online, in RL and in the deepest recesses of my overactive imagination! So far this one looks pretty cool, with each new site, there are better features and more interesting aspects.

Kindy
After Grace's first day of "kindy" (see Pinky's Blog for details) we made orange banana muffins and played Clue Jr. Then while I was searching for ideas for our ever changing homeschool program, I stumbled on this site- we played together for an hour or so and she played alone for another hour- it is a very engaging site.
Tonight I really need to enter the contacts from the book fair we did this past weekend, the Chino Family Festival of Books. I was once again reminded of why I love Barefoot Books as I shared them with other families who love reading. They must put something in the water there- everyone was so friendly and genuine. My mom and Grace came along and Shawn too- it was a fun event.
But I am also drawn to doing more research and preparing more for our new little schoolroom. I did Pilates again, 7th time in 2 weeks. My green binder is still working well for my organizational system. It's good for me to take time to note the things I feel positive about. This blog has begun to serve as a time marker; when we wonder "when?" about things we often search back to reference a date or event to refresh our memory and it's such a nice reminder of the good times- it seems I, like most people probably, tend to blog about happy events- sort of like distilling life into memories and moments that I want define us.
And 24 (S3D2) is distracting me in the background.
Puzzles!
Are you a puzzler? Want to trade?
